Are you fond of jewelry? Do you like sleek and stylish gold necklaces, if yes then this article is for you? A large array of gold necklaces is available in the market. I am the elder one in my family and my parents are planning my marriage. I am fond of gold necklaces so much. I especially like long gold necklaces. However, the necklaces which are attached to the neck are in trend. So we decided to purchase both trendy and traditional look gold necklaces. The purchase was to be done for rest of the family members too, not only for me. So, we decided to purchase gold necklace, first.

One of my friends told us to purchase the jewelry (In Danish smykker)with care because it can be fake. He even gave us the tips to recognize fake
jewelry, which I would like to share with you.
The first thing you need to do for this is, to buy or owe a magnifying glass (jeweler’s loupe). You have to closely check the gold necklaces which you are deciding to own.

Karat markings are the biggest signs, which signify the purity of the gold jewelry. If 18k is written then it indicates 75 percent purity in it, if 14k is written then you can rely that it has 59 percent purity and 10 k tells 42 purity is there in the gold necklaces or jewelry. To check these marks surrounding area should be well lighted, so that you can see the marks, which are too small.

One more noticeable thing is that if mark of EP or GP is there, then it’s clear that gold jewelry or gold necklaces (In Danish Halskæder guld) are only gold plated; they don’t have real gold in it. So be careful or you have to repent afterwards.

It’s true that all the glitters are not gold, so if the new gold necklaces are giving the stained look then it can’t be gold. Tarnished jewelry is not real gold but yes with the passage of time they can give a tarnished or flawed look.

An acid test by the jeweler can give you the real picture at last. If you are buying it from one jeweler you can go to another jeweler for acid test and come to know if the gold necklace or jewelry is real or fake.
